This morning, due to the snow day, my friends and I met at Orient Ave at 8 o’clock. The field (street) was perfect, the plows had yet to come and their was 6 inches of fresh powder that would pad our falls. We quickly divided into two teams: Mark and I vs. Sam and Luke with Ethan as the QB. For some odd reason, Eli and Eric decided not to play and wanted to be the refs. After some arguing, Mark and I won the “toss” and we elected to receive the opening kick off. “I got it,” yelled Mark as he caught the ball and began to run. Luke came right down the middle of the field and I tried to tackle him, but unfortunately, Luke is 6 foot 1 and weights 160 pounds! Luke crushed me, but fortunately, he missed Mark and 5 yards later Sam threw Mark into a snow bank. Mark tossed the football to Ethan and he and I went up the line, I was matched up with Luke L. On the first play, Ethan connected with Mark for a 5-yard gain. On the next play, Ethan handed the ball off to Mark (6 foot 3 and 180 pounds) who pushed Luke over and then almost killed Sam with a brutal hit. It was like Sam got blind sided by a truck!
