Where can you find carbohydrates? Could they be bad for us? Carbohydrates are found in a variety food sources, ranging all the way from bagels to raspberries. Carbohydrates are the energy source for our body and it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that they only have positive effects, but unfortunately, that is not the case. On an average day, our bodies only require a certain amount of carbohydrates to run efficiently. Often, the popular understanding is that more carbohydrates equals more energy, but when the body intakes an excess of carbohydrates it stores them as fat. In the long run, carbohydrates can cause obesity and it should be ones goal to keep a balanced diet with a healthy amount of carbohydrates.
