I love birthdays. Last night, my family and I went out for dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Typically, when my family and I celebrate a birthday, we always try to be spontaneous, and find a new restaurant that we have not visited before. This year, we decided to try an Italian restaurant called il Capriccio, one of the most highly regarded restaurants in the area. Around 6:00 pm, we arrived at il Capriccio and we were seated at our table. Usually, when it’s my dad’s birthday, my dad’s brother, sister, and parents always come to dinner with us, but this year, my dad’s parents were the only ones who could make it. So, after sitting at our table for a couple of minutes, my grandparents finally arrived and we all happily rose from out seats and went to greet them. We ended up enjoying a 3 hour dinner, laughing the entire time, and most importantly, the food was delicious! When the time came for us all to go home, I thought to myself, “Why can’t every night be similar to this?” “Why do birthdays bring out the best in everyone?” So, when we were all saying our goodbyes, I commented, “Lets make a goal of making every night as special as this one!” February 28 was pretty good to me yesterday!
