In life, creativity is all you can ask for. Imagine, the author, J.K. Rowling, drafted the wonderful fiction series: Harry Potter, with one creative thought. Rowling was just a little girl when she first envisioned Harry Potter and she later pursued it as an adult. In fact, when Rowling first began to write her series, she was impoverished; struggling to feed her family with barely enough time to think one meal into the future. She was stressed, tired, and simply overwhelmed and it would have been easy for her to have given up on herself, but she persevered and trusted her greatest skill: creativity. She allowed herself to continue to imagine the possibilities of a great story and did not give up on her greatest ally: her creative mind. Rowling's series has proven to be enormously successful and eight movies were created for the seven books. It is incredible how she developed such amazing characters in her book that are not only relatable, but inspiring. In one particular scene, Rowling creates an amazing battle which was recreated on screen in the “Order of the Phoenix”. She described the wands of “Albus Dumbledore” and "Tom Riddle" so vividly that the creators of the movie could easily bring her work to the big screen:
As I devoured the books and witnessed the movies, I was always left speechless. I can remember screaming: “How did she come up this idea!! Dodge that spell Harry!! ’Stupefy!’ Over there! Thats the door to the department of mysteries!” The books and movies have always left me in awe, wanting more, but it is not only the dazzling and colorful spells that catch my eye, it is the way the books and movies flow. As I read the books and watched the movies, I never felt as if they were predictable. They naturally twist and turn and I felt as if the books and movie could go in any direction. For example, in the scene (above) there is no evidence who is going to win the battle. Every chapter and every scene brings a new aspect to book, all due to its author’s creativity. J.K. Rowling is amazing writer who persevered through tough times, but also has proven the existence of the power of creativity. To me, it doesn’t matter how ASTOUNDING the books are, it is how astonishing a creative mind can be and I am thankful for the example Rowling has set for me.
